You’re Allowed to Start Small

Not every breakthrough begins with a bold move. Sometimes it starts with getting out of bed. Drinking a full glass of water. Answering one message. Stretching your body even though you don’t feel like it. That counts. That’s something.
You don’t need a five year plan today. You don’t have to fix everything by Friday. You are allowed to start with what you have, from where you are, even if it’s quiet and slow and tender. Growth doesn’t always look like fireworks. Sometimes it looks like faithfulness in the small things.
There are days I’ve looked at other people’s progress and felt like I should be doing more. But more isn’t always better. More isn’t always sustainable. What matters is true. And if what’s true for you today is that you only had enough energy to take care of your mind and your soul, then that is more than enough.
You are allowed to begin again softly. You are allowed to not have it all figured out. You are allowed to find strength in simplicity.
Start with one kind thought toward yourself.Start with one breath before reacting.Start with one boundary that makes room for peace.Start with one step. Just one.
You don’t need to have it all together. You just need to keep showing up with grace. God sees what’s done in secret. He honors the seeds no one else claps for. Keep watering them anyway. Your healing may be hidden now, but it is not unseen.
Small is not insignificant. It is sacred. And sacred things grow slowly but surely.
