How To Meditate

Meditation is not one size fits all. Find what works for you!

Overview On How To Start

  1. Sit in any position that is comfortable for you.

  2. Choose a duration of time that is completable.

  3. Find a type of meditation that helps you concentrate best.

  4. On our application chose which sound works best for you.

  5. Completing the meditation is more important than judging how many thoughts you had. As long as you finish that is all that matters!

  6. Practice with some level of consistency (daily or weekly).

Different Meditations To Try With The Maunda App

  • God Focused Meditation: Repeat a Name of God as you breathe in. Repeat a name of God as you breathe out

  • Mindfulness Meditation: Breathe intentional and allow your mind to wander but don't judge it.

  • Mantra Meditation: Repeat a word or phrase in your mind over and over.

  • Breathe Count Meditation: Breathe in and out, count 1. Do this repeatedly to your desired number.

  • Body Scan Meditation: Breathe slowly and bring your attention to your your feet. Calmly bring your attention to your calf, then your quads and hamstring. Slowly work your way up to the top your head while consciously acknowledging how you feel.

  • Object Focus Meditation: With your eyes open Chose an object in front of you. Whenever your mind wanders bring your attention back to what your eyes are focused on.

  • Walking Meditation: Simply walk. Take in everything you see, hear, and feel.

  • Mindful Stretch: Whether you have a stretch routine or simply want to hold one stretch, pay attention to how your body feels and how your mind wanders.
